Pathra Privacy & Data Notice
This notice explains what happens to information when you use Pathra's current public services: Find Healthcare, Talk to Pathra, Pathra Wellness, and Pathra Insights. It describes what these services do today — not what Pathra may build in the future.
About this notice
This notice explains what happens to information when you use Pathra's current public services: Find Healthcare, Talk to Pathra, Pathra Wellness, and Pathra Insights. It describes what these services do today — not what Pathra may build in the future.
This notice is not legal advice, and it doesn't mean Pathra has been certified or accredited under any particular framework. It's a plain description of current practice.
What Pathra is
Pathra is a healthcare navigation platform. Today, Pathra helps people find healthcare services, get free guidance when they're unsure where to start, and keep track of their own wellness.
Information you may provide to Pathra
You don't need to create an account to browse Find Healthcare or read Pathra Insights. Depending on how you use Pathra, you may choose to provide information such as your name, a phone number, wellness information (including age or life-stage information), a review of a healthcare provider, a correction to directory information, or information you share when you contact Pathra directly.
It matters where that information actually goes. Some of it is only ever stored in your own browser and never reaches Pathra at all. Some of it — mainly what you tell Pathra directly by phone or WhatsApp — is received, and may be manually recorded, by Pathra. The sections below explain which is which for each part of Pathra.
Find Healthcare
Find Healthcare is Pathra's healthcare directory, currently covering hospitals, doctors, clinics, laboratories, pharmacies and ambulance services. Browsing the directory doesn't require an account or any information from you.
Find Healthcare's directory contains healthcare facility and service information. Not every listing has been verified to the same degree, and information can change. Please confirm important details directly with the provider.
Being listed in the directory isn't an endorsement or certification by Pathra, and it isn't a guarantee of a provider's quality, availability, or that the information shown is current.
Talk to Pathra
Talk to Pathra is a free navigation and guidance channel, currently available by phone and WhatsApp at 0701 000 0100.
When you contact Pathra this way, the Pathra founder currently handles the communication directly. Pathra may manually record limited information needed to understand your request, respond to it, or follow up — this can include your name, phone number, the nature of your request, and basic notes about the guidance given. Operational access to this information is currently limited to the founder.
These records may currently exist outside the Pathra website or app — for example, on the phone or device used for this service, or in manually kept records. Pathra takes reasonable steps to safeguard this information, but we don't claim it is completely secure, and we can't make an absolute guarantee about privacy or security.
There is currently no CRM, no patient account system, and no automated case-management backend behind Talk to Pathra.
Pathra keeps manually recorded Talk to Pathra information only for as long as reasonably needed to respond to your enquiry, provide any agreed follow-up, maintain necessary operational records, or meet applicable legal requirements. Information that's no longer needed for these purposes should be securely deleted or disposed of.
Because Talk to Pathra runs over phone calls and WhatsApp, your communication also involves the phone network or WhatsApp itself as the underlying service — see "Third-party services" below.
Pathra Wellness
Pathra Wellness is a personal wellness space. Wellness is stored only in your browser, on your device. It is not an online account, and there's no password. Your Wellness information doesn't currently sync across devices, and Wellness currently does not send your Wellness information to a Pathra server. You can clear your Wellness data at any time from within Wellness itself, which removes it from your device.
Wellness can include information you choose to enter, such as your age or life-stage, allergies or intolerances, mood, sleep, activity, measurements, food and water logging, medication notes, and other personal notes. Because this stays on your own device, Pathra doesn't currently have access to it.
Wellness is designed to be used across a range of ages and life-stages, including younger users. See "Children and young people" below for how this relates to younger users specifically.
Reviews and corrections
Find Healthcare currently lets you submit a review of a provider or request a correction to their information. In the current version, anything you submit through these forms is stored only in your own browser. It is not transmitted to Pathra, not visible to other visitors, not automatically sent to a moderation team, and does not automatically update the directory.
This may change as Pathra develops a fuller submission system — if it does, we'll update this notice to reflect it.
Pathra Insights
Pathra Insights is Pathra's public informational content about finding and understanding healthcare. Reading it doesn't require an account or any information from you. Insights articles are general information, not individualized medical advice.
Local device/browser storage
Where Pathra uses your browser's own storage — currently Wellness, and Find Healthcare reviews/corrections — that information remains on your device unless it's cleared or otherwise removed by your browser or device. We can't guarantee that local storage is completely secure, and it isn't automatically hidden from anyone else who has access to your device or browser.
Third-party services
This site loads fonts from Google. Loading a font involves your browser connecting directly to Google's servers, which is a normal part of how web fonts work. Google's own handling of that request is governed by Google's policies, not Pathra's.
If you contact Pathra through WhatsApp, that conversation also runs over WhatsApp's own service, and if you call, it runs over the phone network. Pathra doesn't control how WhatsApp or your phone carrier handle that communication on their end — their own privacy practices apply to that part of it.
How information may be used
Where Pathra currently uses information, it's for purposes like:
- providing navigation guidance through Talk to Pathra
- responding to and following up on enquiries
- maintaining necessary operational records for Talk to Pathra
- letting Wellness function on your own device
- displaying healthcare directory information through Find Healthcare
- operating the public Pathra website
Pathra doesn't currently use information for targeted advertising, profiling, behavioural advertising, AI training, or building marketing databases, and doesn't sell personal data.
When information may be shared
Information stored only in your browser (Wellness, and Find Healthcare reviews/corrections) isn't shared by Pathra, because Pathra doesn't have it.
Information you tell Pathra directly through Talk to Pathra is currently accessed only by the founder, for the purposes described above.
Find Healthcare's directory information about providers is publicly displayed as part of what the directory is for.
We don't have a current arrangement to share personal information with outside partners. We also don't claim that information is never shared under any circumstances — for example, Pathra may need to share information where required by law.
Data retention
For Talk to Pathra, Pathra keeps manually recorded information only for as long as reasonably needed to respond to your enquiry, provide agreed follow-up, maintain necessary operational records, or meet applicable legal requirements.
For Wellness, and for Find Healthcare reviews/corrections, retention is controlled by your own browser and device, not by a Pathra server — the information stays until you clear it or your browser/device removes it.
Your rights
Nigeria has a data protection law — the Nigeria Data Protection Act, 2023 — overseen by the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC). Under it, you generally have rights that can include accessing your information, correcting it, having it deleted, restricting or objecting to its use, and receiving a copy of it.
Whether and how Pathra can act on a request depends on whether Pathra actually holds the relevant information.
For information stored only on your own device — such as Wellness, or a review/correction you submitted on Find Healthcare — Pathra doesn't have a copy to act on; you can manage or clear that information yourself from within the relevant part of the site.
For information you've shared directly with Pathra through Talk to Pathra, you can contact Pathra using the details below to ask about, correct, or request deletion of that information.
Children and young people
Wellness is designed to be usable across a range of ages and life-stages, including by younger users, with age-appropriate framing built into the product.
Nigerian data protection law gives extra protection to children's personal data, and parental or guardian consent is generally expected to apply in relevant circumstances. Pathra is working through exactly how this applies to Wellness's current local-only design, and additional safeguards may be introduced as that work continues.
If you have concerns about a young person's use of Wellness, please contact Pathra using the details below.
Changes to this notice
Pathra may update this notice as our services, technology, or applicable legal requirements change. We'll update the version on this page when that happens.
